Tech Compass Pty Ltd ("Tech Compass", "we", "us") provides governed API access to regulatory and compliance data sourced from authoritative government and public registries. Our APIs are designed for regulated enterprises including banks, insurers, ASX-listed entities, and their compliance, legal, and risk teams.
Access to the APIs is provided via API key issued through the signup process. By using our services you agree to these terms in full.
Our APIs are provided for compliance, regulatory, risk management, and due diligence purposes. You must not:
FINRA BrokerCheck data: Downstream use of data obtained via the US Enforcement & Disciplinary API is restricted to compliance and regulatory purposes only, consistent with the FINRA BrokerCheck Terms of Use. You must not use this data for employment screening, credit evaluation, or other purposes not permitted by FINRA.
Tech Compass proxies and structures data from publicly available government sources. Attribution and licensing terms for each data source are documented in the compliance pack delivered with your API key and included in the data_lineage block of every API response:
Where a source licence imposes downstream obligations (such as attribution or use restrictions), those obligations pass through to you as an API consumer. Tech Compass includes the required attribution in every API response to assist your compliance with these obligations.
Uptime commitments and response time targets are provided per tier:
Planned maintenance windows are excluded from SLA calculations. We will provide at least 48 hours notice for planned maintenance affecting availability.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tech Compass's aggregate liability for any claims arising out of or relating to these terms or the services is limited to:
Tech Compass is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits. The data provided through our APIs is sourced from third-party government registries. While we take reasonable care to ensure accuracy, we make no warranty that the data is complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose. You are responsible for independently verifying data before relying on it for regulatory or commercial decisions.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms or the use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, Australia.
